#30DaysofJING Diary July 1st-4th

Happy #30DaysofJING!!!


I am so excited for this journey. Like I said in my first post in the series, I am not cutting out coffee completely. I have narcolepsy and need stimulants to stay awake. I am however reducing my caffeine intake. I usually drink 3 cups of coffee a day and am shooting for 1 cup of coffee a day.

July 1

It is currently 4 P.M. as I write this and I am exhausted. I just want to nap or drink a cup of coffee but I have a to-do list a mile long because I gave myself the room to rest early this afternoon. 


Today I woke up around 11 am since I stayed up past midnight cleaning. I had a cup of coffee for breakfast with a ¼ teaspoon of JING in it. Then for lunch a few hours later (I forgot about an appointment I had and didn’t have time for breakfast) I had pulled pork quesadillas with a glass of strawberry lemonade with ¼ teaspoon of JING in it because I was curious of how it would taste. Then a little later for a snack I had a funfetti cupcake with blue icing with sprinkles with JING snuck inside. I am really curious about JING and what I can do with it. So stay tuned for all the ways I sneak JING into my diet this month. 


Energy levels: Low. I am exhausted and desperately need a nap. I am groggy and feel like I just woke up. 

Sleep quality: I slept deeply for about 10 hours last night.

Clearness of thoughts: I have a bit of brain fog today. It feels like there is a blanket over my head. 

Productivity: My productivity has been really low today. 

July 2

It's day 2 of #30DaysofJING. I am physically and emotionally drained today. It is the 2 year anniversary of losing both of my mother's parents in a motorcycle accident. 

 

I started my day with a cup of coffee with Neural Nectar, SHEN, and JING. I moved slowly and honored my body and my feelings. For lunch, I had the rest of my pulled pork quesadillas and a JING cupcake.

 

Then, I went thrift shopping and discovered some good finds and bargains. When I got home, I took a 4-hour nap because I was exhausted and just needed to sleep. By then, it was 8:30 pm, so I made a cup of coffee and started on dinner. I made steak with scalloped potatoes. After dinner, I started making Fudgy Sweet Potato Brownies from the SF recipe blogs. I went to eat them and they weren’t done yet. So, as I am writing, they are still in the oven. I will let you know how they taste tomorrow!

 

Energy levels: My energy level is medium today. It is mostly low because of what I am going through mentally and emotionally. 

Sleep quality: I slept deeply for about 10 hours last night. 

Clearness of thoughts: I did not have any brain fog today.

Productivity: My productivity has been really low today, not because of my energy but because of my grief. 

July 3

So, I’m behind on my diary entries. Where I’m from in the US, we celebrate the 4th of July on the 3rd. So I was out and about, busy with my family celebrating and watching fireworks.

 

Yesterday, I started my day with a cup of coffee with honey and JING. Then, for lunch, I had eggs with bacon at my dad's house. 

 

On Saturdays, I like going to the local coffee shop to hang out and do some work. There, I had an iced caramel macchiato. Before going to the fireworks with my family, I went home and made Everything But The Bagel seasoned burgers with a scallion sour cream sauce and homemade fries. I treated myself at the fireworks and got nachos and a sprite. 

 

I left the fireworks before they even started and went to bed.

 

Energy levels: My energy levels were high today.

Sleep quality: I slept deeply for about 10 hours last night. 

Clearness of thoughts: I did not have any brain fog today.

Productivity: My productivity was high today. 

Happy 4th of July! Or as I like to call it, a day to give Americans an excuse to day drink and blow stuff up. I don’t really celebrate the 4th in the typical way, I take it as an opportunity to hang out with family and friends.

 

Today, I got up around 10:45 a.m. and had a cup of coffee with JING. I laid around in my bathrobe most of the morning. Then, I had my leftover burgers from yesterday. I went to my dad's house after getting ready and ended up taking a nap on his porch. I also had a cup of coffee at his house. 

 

There's some kind of nap magic on my dad's porch. zzzzz

 

After I woke up, I helped my dad's girlfriend make dinner for the holiday. Instead of feeling heavy after our cookout I felt full of energy and ready to take on the world. 

 

Energy levels: My energy level is medium to low today. 

Sleep quality: I slept deeply for about 12 hours last night. 

Clearness of thoughts: I had slight brain fog today. 

Productivity: My productivity has been really good for a Sunday.
